Your result

Not just a letter: you know what holds you back

Most people have an uneven level: they read at B2 and listen at A2. The test shows each skill separately and tells you where to put your effort to level up faster.

The levels

What each level means

The Common European Framework scale, the same one used by companies, universities and official exams.

  1. A1

    Beginner

You introduce yourself and understand basic phrases if people speak slowly.

  2. A2

    Elementary

You get by in everyday situations: ordering, asking, giving directions.

  3. B1

    Intermediate

You travel with no problem and talk about your job, even if you lack some words.

  4. B2

    Upper intermediate

You follow a work meeting and share opinions fluently.

  5. C1

    Advanced

You negotiate, present and understand series without subtitles.

How it works

A test that adjusts to you

  1. 01

    You answer

Between 15 and 30 short questions and one written sentence. No translator: an honest result is more useful.

  2. 02

    The test adapts

If you get it right, difficulty goes up; if you miss, it goes down. You don't waste time on obvious or impossible questions.

  3. 03

    You see your level

Instantly: your overall level, your level by skill and what you need to move up. Also as a PDF.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the test?
It's a short test, so it's a very good estimate, not an official exam. In simulations it hits your exact level in most cases and almost never misses by more than one level. When in doubt, it gives you the lower level.
How many questions does it have?
Between 15 and 30, plus one written sentence. It adapts to you: if you get it right difficulty goes up, if you miss it goes down, and it ends once it has your level clear.
Do I need audio?
The listening questions use audio, but if you can't listen right now you can skip them and the test continues with other questions.
What do you do with my email?
We only use it to send you your result as a PDF and, if you accept, some tips to improve your English. You can unsubscribe at any time. We don't sell it.
What do the levels A1 to C1 mean?
They are the levels of the Common European Framework (CEFR): A1 beginner, A2 elementary, B1 intermediate, B2 upper intermediate and C1 advanced. Most exams and companies use them.
