Privacy policy and personal data processing

Last updated: October 17, 2026

At Leengua (https://leengua.co) we take care of your data. This policy explains what information we collect, what we use it for, who we share it with and how you can exercise your rights, in accordance with Colombian Law 1581 of 2012, Decree 1377 of 2013 (compiled in Decree 1074 of 2015) and other Colombian data protection regulations.

1. Data controller

Fabián Rodríguez, owner of Leengua, based in Colombia. For any matter about your data, write to hola@leengua.co.

2. What data we collect

  • Account data: your email address and your password. The password is stored encrypted; we cannot see it.
  • Profile: your name, your role and your English level. If you take the level test, we store the result and the short text you write in it.
  • Public level test: if you take the level test without an account, we store your name, your email, your answers, the short text you write and your result, and we email you the result as a PDF. If you tick the optional checkbox, we may also email you tips to improve your English; you can stop receiving them at any time. The PDF is not stored: it is generated on the spot.
  • Practice data: your progress on the path, your answers to exercises, vocabulary cards, the messages you write in the chat and with practice contacts, and call results (duration, score and feedback).
  • Voice: in simulated calls and interviews, your voice is sent in real time to the artificial intelligence provider so the conversation works. We do not store recordings of your voice; we store the result and the feedback of the session.
  • Usage data: events inside the platform (for example, that you completed a practice), activity dates and technical logs of the use of AI features, to measure costs, prevent abuse and improve the product.
  • Sign-up source: if you arrive from an ad, we may store which campaign you came from.
  • Waitlist: if spots are full and you leave us your email, we store it to let you know when we open more spots.
  • Notifications: if you turn them on, we store the technical address your browser creates to receive them, the type of device and browser, and whether each notification was shown or tapped.

We do not collect sensitive data or data from minors. Leengua is for people aged 18 and over only.

3. What we use your data for

  • Create and maintain your account, and give you access to the platform.
  • Personalize your path, your practice and your feedback according to your level and your role.
  • Send you account emails, practice reminders and news. You can stop receiving the non-essential ones with the unsubscribe link in each email.
  • Send you notifications on your phone or computer (reminders, challenges and news) if you turn them on. You can turn them off at any time in My account or in your device settings.
  • Notify you about the waitlist and when new spots open.
  • Measure usage, control costs, prevent fraud and improve Leengua.
  • Measure and improve our advertising, if you arrive from an ad.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with providers that help us operate the service:

  • Google (Gemini): processes your voice and your messages to provide the conversations, the feedback and the grading of the level test.
  • Database and hosting providers: store your account information.
  • Resend: sends our emails.
  • Your browser's notification services (Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft): deliver notifications to your device. They are encrypted: these services cannot read their content.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram): if you arrive from an ad, we may use Meta tools to measure the result of the campaign.

Some of these providers are located outside Colombia, so your data may be transferred to and processed in other countries. We only use providers that offer adequate levels of protection. We may also disclose information if a competent authority requires it.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a session cookie that is necessary to keep you signed in. If you arrive from an ad, we may use the Meta pixel or other measurement tools, which store identifiers to know which ads work. You can block these technologies in your browser settings; the platform will keep working, except for the session.

  • Know, update and correct your data.
  • Request proof of the authorization you gave us.
  • Be informed about how we use your data.
